Sermorelin

What it is

Sermorelin is a lab-made peptide matching the first 29 amino acids of natural GHRH — the part that does the actual work of telling the pituitary to release growth hormone. It is one of the more established peptides of its kind.

It has been used in medical research, including as a test of pituitary function.

Mechanism

Sermorelin plugs into the GHRH docking point on the pituitary gland, prompting it to make and release growth hormone in natural pulses. Because it works with the body's own release system, the pituitary's normal limits still apply.

Growth hormone then drives IGF-1, so the growth-hormone-to-IGF-1 chain is the system of interest.
